Welcome to Reception!
Welcome to our Reception Class page. Our teacher is Mrs. Wilding and we are helped by Mrs. Maddock, Mrs. Gladstone and Miss. Hartley.
The children have settled extremely well into school life and have already made many friends. They are familiar with the class routines and expectations and are already making great progress.
To help make our classroom a nice place to play and learn we have created our own class promises:
We will have kind hands, feet and kind words
We will all help to tidy up
We will sit nicely on the carpet
We will put our hands up
We will share everything
We have great fun and do many exciting things both inside and in our outside area such as making dens, building trains, water play, riding our new balance bikes, role play, making cakes in our mud kitchen…allsorts!
In Reception this half term we have worked hard and had lots of fun. We were very excited when the snow came and we had a fantastic time wrapping up warm and playing in it.
During Health and Well-being week we thought about the foods we should eat a lot of to keep us healthy. We designed and made a healthy sandwich. We ate them for snack and really enjoyed them.
The children are currently interested in rockets and space and have helped to create a Space role play area inside our classroom. Over the half term holidays, the children have been challenged to create something linked to Space that they can share with their friends and add it to our new area. Have a look at their fantastic creations. 😀
The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the different pumpkins and squash. They have discussed their size and shape and have been able to put them in size order, We have looked at their weight and have discussed whether they think they were heavy or light. Some children experimented with the pumpkins to see if they could roll and travel down ramps! We have had great fun scooping out the insides and using the microscopes to have a closer look.
