Visit to Shuttleworth College –STEM event
On Wednesday 6th April, Year 5 walked to Shuttleworth College to build a telescope!
In the morning, we designed posters with these questions:
- Did Galiko invent the telescope
- What’s happened since?
After that we had a break and ate biscuits!
We then walked to the sports hall and recapped about the Solar System with Mr Turner. In the afternoon, we played outside and then went into the art room to build the telescope. For our telescopes, we had to position our lenses in exactly the right place so that we could see through clearly.
It was great fun to learn new things and we all hope we can do it again!

Ambassadors Support Homework Club
Year 7 and 8 children from Shuttleworth College visit the school every Monday to support children in years 1 to 6 with their homework. They provide excellent role models for our children and reinforce the importance of homework, both at Primary school and later in their education.
