“Despite the current difficulties, your Board of Governors continues to meet to support the School in every way possible. Earlier in February, we held a 2 hour ‘Zoom’ meeting to keep up-to-date with the business of keeping the School running smoothly.
We cannot praise highly enough the dedication and commitment shown by all staff members in supporting the learning provision for our children. We can assure you that the leadership of the School is of the highest quality…it our job to know what is happening!
It is easy to forget that our teachers and support staff have not previously been trained to deliver the quality of ‘on-line learning’ that is now demanded. They have risen to the challenge. It is easy to forget the unbelievably short notice the School was given to move to home-learning after Christmas. We sometimes don’t realise that staff are having to deliver lessons for home learning and live lessons in School for the 90+ children who are still entitled to attend. As governors, we have not heard any ‘moans and groans’ about the difficulties. All we hear is what we must do next…it is very much a ’can do’ culture at Whittlefield! We know that many of you feel the same; echoed by one parent who said: “I am very happy that I chose Whittlefield for my daughter’.
I am proud to be a school governor, proud to work with other committed governors. I am especially proud to be a governor at Whittlefield Primary School.”
