Dream Believe Achieve

It has been good to see children back at school over the last few weeks and it almost feels like normality is returning.  Board members have seen examples of the work being undertaken where staff and children have been working hard under the Bounce Back curriculum and the subsequent development of individual learning plans to close any gaps.     On behalf of myself and all members of the Board, thank you once again for the hard work and effort of staff, parents, and children during these difficult times.

At the end of April, we held our Governing Board meeting where our focus was on agreeing the Budget for the next year and reviewing the spend that the School has received.  A paper outlining the money received as a result of COVID will appear on the Web site shortly, for parents to review if they wish.   Secondly Governors’ received details of the plans we are pursuing for the school and community in utilising the field that is between the school and the Doctors surgery on Tabor Street.  Much work has been done to bring this to fruition and I would like to thank Cheryl Tipping for her efforts and determination in ensuring we secure the relevant permissions and funding to achieve this, given the difficulties of navigating local planning regulations and raising funds.

Finally, Board members reviewed the virtual governance arrangements taking place as a result of the pandemic and created their own action plan to ensure we remain on top of any emerging situation.  This will appear on our web site shortly.

One action coming from the meeting was that we intend to recruit a further Board member who can demonstrate financial expertise and/or is financially qualified to add to the skills of the Board.  Details of this will shortly appear on the schools Facebook page and through LinkedIn.  Please consider submitting an application where you meet this criteria and can expand the skill base of the Board.
