At Whittlefield, we use a whole school approach called Charanga and each year explores a new theme each half term.

Charanga is designed to help each child develop their understanding and put new skills into practise.

At school, our aim is to help every child enjoy and appreciate music.

Children enjoy musical experiences throughout the year such as being part of dance and choir clubs, Christmas shows and singing performances and watching live music.

Every year group loved taking part in a Chinese drumming workshop. The children listened to traditional instruments and had a go at making music using the Chinese drums.

Nursery and Reception have recently taken part in World Nursery Rhyme Week. The children looked at a new rhyme each day and enjoyed exploring a range of instruments and joined in with lots of singing and dancing.
